Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (So when you have finished, then strive)
Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Sharh: 7-8] The meaning in this verse is: when you have finished your tasks, then strive in another task,Meaning: labor for another task, do not let this world be wasted on you. For this reason, the life of the sensible person is a life of earnestness; whenever he finishes one task, he begins another. There is no wasting of time. Time does not show mercy, as they say; time moves and passes the person in his wakefulness and sleep, in his work and leisure. It proceeds. Can anyone hold back time? No.
It is not possible. Even if all of creation gathered to stop the sun so that the day would be longer, they would not be able to do it. No one can hold back time.
So, make your life one of earnestness. When you finish one task, strive in another. When you finish a task of this world, attend to a task of the Hereafter. When you finish the Hereafter, attend to the matters of this world. When the prayer is completed on Friday, it is flanked by two worldly tasks: [Al-Jumu'ah: 9] meaning: and you are occupied with your worldly affairs [Al-Jumu'ah: 9-10] Strive, sell and buy. We finished one task and engaged in another, we finished that and engaged in another, and so on. Thus, a person should always be in a state of earnestness.
If someone were to say: What if I used earnestness in all my life, would I become tired and bored? We said: Your rest, to refresh yourself and restore your energy, is considered work and labor.Meaning: It is not necessary that work be done through physical movements. No, your leisure, in order to refresh yourself for another task, is considered work. The important thing is that you make your entire life one of earnestness and work.
[Al-Sharh: 7-8] meaning: when you have performed the tasks you finished and striven in the others, then seek from Allah the Exalted and Majestic the reward, the attainment of the wage, and assistance. Be with Allah the Exalted and Majestic before and after the work. Before the work, be with Allah, seeking His help, the Exalted and Majestic, and after it, hope for His reward. [Al-Sharh: 8] .
Allah the Exalted said:
(7) So when you have finished [your duties], then stand up [for worship]. (8) And to your Lord direct [your] longing.
فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَانصَبْ * وَإِلَى رَبِّكَ فَارْغَبْIt is not possible. Even if all of creation gathered to stop the sun so that the day would be longer, they would not be able to do it. No one can hold back time.

O you who have believed, when [the adhan] is called for the prayer on the day of Jumu'ah
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا نُودِيَ لِلصَّلاةِ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِthen proceed to the remembrance of Allah and leave trade. That is better for you, if you only knew. (10) And when the prayer has been concluded, disperse within the land and seek from the bounty of Allah
If someone were to say: What if I used earnestness in all my life, would I become tired and bored? We said: Your rest, to refresh yourself and restore your energy, is considered work and labor.Meaning: It is not necessary that work be done through physical movements.
