The Meaning of the Saying of Allah the Exalted: "So when you have finished, then stand up for worship. And to your Lord, turn in hope."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :
(7) So when you have finished [your duties], then stand up [for worship]. (8) And to your Lord direct [your] longing. فإذا فرغت فانصب وإلى ربك فارغب
[Ash-Sharh 94:7-8]
This means that when you are finished with what distracts you from obedience, you should devote yourself to worship. For example, if a person has dinner in front of him and the call to prayer is made, what does he prioritize? He prioritizes dinner so that he comes to the prayer with a clear mind and prays. Now, people are praying; I hear the imam praying, and I am eating? Answer me. Glory be to Allah, I am reciting over you, and now you stop? Yes, I eat, even if the imam is reciting. Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him and his father), who was among the most devoted of people in worship, used to eat his dinner while the imam was praying and hearing his recitation. But this does not mean that you make your dinner every day at the time of prayer. No, no. But if the situation arises and dinner is served to you, eat it so that you come to the prayer with a clear mind.
So when you turn in hope, then stand up for worship. And to your Lord, turn in hope. فإذا رغبت فانصب وإلى ربك فارغب
Yes, [He is] the best Master and the best Helper. You should not turn in hope to anyone but Allah (Mighty and Majestic), for He is your refuge and your sanctuary, He is your protection, He is the One from whom aid is sought, and upon Him is reliance. Turn in hope to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) in all your affairs and ask Him for everything you need, for He (Mighty and Majestic) will give you what you ask for
And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me وإذا سألك عبادي عني فإني قريب أجيب دعوة الداع إذا دعان
[Al-Baqarah 2:186]
.
I ask Allah the Exalted at this hour for guidance and success for you and for me in what He loves and is pleased with, and that He make our outcome good and our ending good, and that He make our future better than our past. Indeed, He is capable of all things. And the questions will come after the prayer, if Allah wills.
