Patience with the Consequences of Da'wah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
His Eminence the Shaykh: A man used to love singing, so I advised him many times and gave him beneficial tapes. I would erase his singing tapes and replace them with beneficial ones. Then he returned to singing a second time, and now he curses and swears at me, even though I am advising him. What is the ruling on this?

I say: Rejoice in good, for you have been afflicted in the cause of calling to Allah. When a person calls to Allah and is afflicted for the sake of Allah the Exalted and is patient, he has a share of reward for the da'wah, and he follows the example of the Prophets (peace be upon them). As Allah the Exalted said:
And certainly were messengers denied before you, but they were patient over [the effects of] denial, and they were harmed until Our victory came to them.
[Al-An'am: 34] So he is rewarded for his patience and for following the example of the Prophets.
So be patient with his words if he curses you, for you are, if Allah wills, not worthy of a curse. The curse will return to him. And if he insults you, that is good deeds he is giving you from his own good deeds. So be patient, seek reward from Allah, and ask Allah to guide him. Repeat your da'wah to him and others, and be patient with what has befallen you.Have you not heard that Luqman said to his son:
O my son, establish prayer, enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and be patient over what befalls youيَا بُنَيَّ أَقِمِ الصَّلاةَ وَأْمُرْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَانْهَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَاصْبِرْ عَلَى مَا أَصَابَكَ
[Luqman: 17] It is necessary for the one who calls to Allah, enjoins good, and forbids evil to face affliction. He must be patient and seek reward, and Allah will grant him the reward for enjoining good and forbidding evil and for his patience with affliction.
