Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (The Day they will be tested over the Fire)]

Allah the Exalted said:

[It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire

يَوْمَ هُمْ عَلَى النَّارِ يُفْتَنُونَ

[Surat al-Dhariyat: 13] This is the answer,Meaning: the Day of Resurrection

[It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire

يَوْمَ هُمْ عَلَى النَّارِ يُفْتَنُونَ

[Adh-Dhariyat 51:13]

and thus (Day) here is an adverbial noun serving as the predicate of an omitted subject,and the implied meaning is: the Day of Resurrection is the Day they will be tested over the Fire.
And the meaning of

tormented over the Fire

عَلَى النَّارِ يُفْتَنُونَ

[Surat al-Dhariyat: 13] is: they will be presented to it and burned by it,Meaning: the trial means burning; but it was transitive with (over) because it was implied with the meaning of presentation,Meaning: they are presented to the Fire and burned by it, this is the Day of Judgment

[It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire
