The ruling on praying two rak'ahs after the witr

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Regarding the two rak'ahs, did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) pray them after the witr at the end of the night?

He sometimes prayed two rak'ahs sitting after the witr, but he said: (Make the last of your night prayer witr). So, if one prioritizes his saying over his action, he says: We do not follow the example of these two rak'ahs; because when the saying of the Messenger and his action conflict, we prioritize his saying. Based on this, we do not pray them. And if one says that they are two rak'ahs attached to the witr, and the Messenger does not always perform them,He said: then there is no harm in performing them sometimes. For this reason, the Prophet (may Allah be pleased with him) placed them before the witr. The witr is performed standing, and this is praying two rak'ahs sitting, so that they serve the witr in the same way that the rawatib serve the obligatory prayer. So, if a person performs them sometimes, there is no harm, and if he leaves them, there is no harm.

The questioner: And if he prays two rak'ahs, does he pray two rak'ahs before the Fajr prayer? The Shaykh: The two rak'ahs before the Fajr prayer are the rawatib of Fajr; they have no connection to the witr, and they are not performed except after the dawn has appeared. The two rak'ahs after the witr, sitting, are before Fajr.
