What do we benefit from the difference between al-Bukhari and Muslim in narrating the hadith of intention?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The hadith of intention, once again, meaning, what do we benefit from this discrepancy in the narration? What do we benefit from it?

The Shaykh : This is a good question. As for your first statement, there is nothing in it. The words differ, may Allah reward you. In narrating hadiths, there is no doubt that a hadith like this was spoken by the Messenger (peace be upon him) using one of two wordings: either the singular "intention" or the plural "intentions." The narrators differ in the strength of their memory and retention. Without a doubt, the scholars agreed that what is in al-Bukhari is more authentic than what is in Muslim. This is from one aspect. From another aspect, the more comprehensive wording is always adopted over the less comprehensive one, because the less comprehensive is included in the more comprehensive, and the more comprehensive encompasses the less comprehensive. So, goodbye, and peace be upon you.

The questioner : The children of the believers.

The Shaykh : That is the end of it.
