The ruling on addressing the wife's parents as "Uncle" and "Aunt," and "Maternal Uncle" and "Maternal Aunt"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
His Eminence the Shaykh: May Allah preserve you, is it true that it is not permissible for a husband to say to his wife's father: "Maternal Uncle,"And to his wife's mother: or "Maternal Aunt"? And likewise for the wife?
If it is in the context of honor, there is nothing wrong with it,For example: to say "Uncle" when addressing him, or "Maternal Uncle," or "Aunt," or "Maternal Aunt," when addressing them. This is in the context of honor and there is nothing wrong with it. However, if one describes them (as a maternal uncle or paternal uncle) this has not been mentioned in the Qur'an or the Sunnah that the wife's father is an uncle or maternal uncle, or that the wife's mother is an aunt or maternal aunt. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (Do not let the Bedouins overpower you regarding your 'Isha' prayer) The Bedouins call 'Isha' prayer "Atamah" because they stay up with their camels, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded that we call it 'Isha';Because this is what came in the Book of Allah:
O you who have believed, let those whom your right hands possess and those who have not [yet] reached puberty among you ask permission of you [before entering] at three times: before the dawn prayer and when you put aside your clothing [for rest] at noon and after the night prayerيَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لِيَسْتَأْذِنْكُمُ الَّذِينَ مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُكُمْ وَالَّذِينَ لَمْ يَبْلُغُوا الْحُلُمَ مِنْكُمْ ثَلاثَ مَرَّاتٍ مِنْ قَبْلِ صَلاةِ الْفَجْرِ وَحِينَ تَضَعُونَ ثِيَابَكُمْ مِنَ الظَّهِيرَةِ وَمِنْ بَعْدِ صَلاةِ الْعِشَاءِ
[Surat al-Nur: 58] So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) guided us to the fact that words are not to be used except for their legal meaning.

And often a person comes to you asking, saying: He said "my maternal uncle," and she said "my aunt," so the questioner assumes that they are maternal uncles and aunts by blood relation.

So the important thing is that the answer is: If that is when addressing him, saying to his wife's father: "Maternal Uncle," or "Uncle," there is nothing wrong with it. However, if it is when speaking about him and informing others, then that is not recommended; but prohibition is a difficult matter.
