The Ruling on Playing Bridge

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
What is the ruling on playing bridge?

Bridge, may Allah reward you. If you were to ask those who play bridge: What happens to their time? They would have said: It passes quickly, and we spend long hours bent over it. This is a waste of time, and time is truly more valuable than money.Allah the Exalted said:
until, when death comes to one of them, he says, "My Lord, send me back (100) That I might do righteousness in that which I left behind."حَتَّى إِذَا جَاءَ أَحَدَهُمُ الْمَوْتُ قَالَ رَبِّ ارْجِعُونِ * لَعَلِّي أَعْمَلُ صَالِحاً فِيمَا تَرَكْتُ
[Al-Mu'minun: 99-100] He did not say, "Perhaps I will complete my game."
It also offers no benefit to a person; neither to his body, nor to his thought and intellect. It is merely amusement and a waste of time. If playing it is a waste of time, then a person of sound mind should not spend his time without benefit.
