Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (And We are closer to him than you)]

Allah the Exalted said:
And Our angels are nearer to him than youوَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْكُمْ
[Al-Waqi'ah: 85] meaning: his family, for Allah the Exalted is closer to the throat than his family is to him,But the meaning is: closer by our angels,And for this he said:
But you do not seeوَلَكِنْ لا تُبْصِرُونَ
[Al-Waqi'ah: 85] And Allah the Exalted attributes a thing to Himself when His angels carry it out; for the angels (peace be upon them) are His messengers. This is not a case of distorting the words from their places, but rather a case of interpreting a thing according to what the context requires. Do you know why I said this? For perhaps someone might say: The apparent meaning of the verse:
And Our angels are nearer to him than youوَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْكُمْ
[Al-Waqi'ah: 85] is that the One who is closest is Allah Mighty and Majestic. So why do you distort it?We say: We have not distorted it, but rather we interpreted the verse according to what its apparent meaning requires;Because Allah said:
And Our angels are nearer to him than you, but you do not see -وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْكُمْ وَلَكِنْ لا تُبْصِرُونَ
[Al-Waqi'ah: 85] And it is known that Allah was not on earth such that the preventer from seeing Him would be that we do not see Him. So: it is the angels, but we do not see them,So if you say: How does Allah attribute a thing to Himself when the angels are meant? We said: There is nothing strange in that, for Allah attributes a thing to Himself even though it is the action of the angels; for they are His messengers, so their action is His action,Have you not seen the saying of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He):
(16) Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. (17) Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. (18) So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation.
[Al-Qiyamah: 16-18] (When We read it (the meaning is: Jibril read it, not Allah, but He attributed Jibril's action to Himself because it was by His command, and He is the One who sent him with it.
Therefore:
Then why, when the soul at death reaches the throatفَلَوْلا إِذَا بَلَغَتِ الْحُلْقُومَ
[Al-Waqi'ah: 83] meaning: the soul of the dying person reached the throat, rising from the lower part of the body, (And you) O relatives and friends, are looking,At that time:
And Our angels are nearer to him than youوَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْكُمْ
[Al-Waqi'ah: 85] meaning: Our angels are closer to him than you; for they were present to take the soul, and Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) has preserved man in his life and after his death; in his life there are angels who preserve him by the command of Allah, and after his death there are angels who take his soul and preserve it, not letting it slip at all. So they are close to the deceased, but we do not see them because the angels are a hidden realm that is not seen.
