The obligation of following the imam in reciting the entire tashahhud for the masbuq

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
His Eminence the Shaykh: The question asks: A ma'mum entered the Maghrib prayer or one of the four-rak'ah prayers in the last rak'ah with the imam. When the imam sits for the final tashahhud, what should this masbuq do in his prayer? Does he recite the first tashahhud or the final tashahhud?
If a person catches up with the imam and sits with him for the final tashahhud, having missed one or two rak'ahs, he should recite the entire tashahhud and not limit himself to the first tashahhud. If he limits himself to the first tashahhud and repeats it, in the case where the imam's final tashahhud is his first tashahhud, there is no harm. However, completing it does no harm, and it is more comprehensive in following the imam.

The questioner: If he performs the tawruk in the final tashahhud, then this masbuq should perform the tawruk in the final tashahhud.

Answer: As for the tawruk, he does not perform the tawruk. He is asking about the tashahhud, but there is no harm in adding it as an extra virtue. He does not perform the tawruk because it is not his final tashahhud.
