What is the adornment of a woman that is permissible for her husband?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The question reads: A woman beautifies herself for her husband at home, and she intends by this to please her husband and appear before him in a beautiful manner.

The Shaykh : What Allah willed!

The questioner : What is the obstacle to that? Knowing that this type of beautification is shared by Muslim women and disbelieving women, so it is not specific to disbelieving women, especially since face painting was known in the era of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), and they used to paint their faces with warse. We ask for a detailed response.

The Shaykh : There is nothing wrong with a woman adorning herself for her husband with what does not contradict her Shari'ah in this adornment. As for if she adorns herself with what contains a contradiction, this is not permissible for her. As for the painting mentioned in the hadith, we naturally cannot but say it is permissible. But the painting known today is a foreign matter, and it is not of Islam in any way. Rather, the Muslims received it from the disbelievers when they were occupied by them, and then when they left, they left their traces behind them. So we, who claim that we want to fight them, support them in these traces without knowing or feeling it. Therefore, it is necessary to distinguish between adornment that is not the custom of the disbelievers or disbelieving women, and adornment where the least that can be said is that it is a custom specific to Muslims. This is permissible, and that is not permissible. Yes.
