The continuation of the story of the man who killed a hundred souls.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : This worshipper, to whom the killer who had killed ninety-nine souls said, "You have no repentance." What was the result of his ignorance? He was killed. Then this killer, who had killed a hundred souls, went to a knowledgeable man and said to him, "I have killed a hundred souls. Is there any repentance for me?"
He said, "Yes. And who can stand between you and repentance? But go to such-and-such a village, for there are righteous people in it." The man set out, and on the way, death came to him. The angels of mercy descended to take his soul, and the angels of punishment descended to take his soul. The angels of mercy and the angels of punishment descended to him, even though Allah (Mighty and Majestic) knows what his end would be, but for the sake of the lesson. The two groups disputed, so Allah sent an angel to judge between them. He said, "Measure the distance between the two lands: the land from which he set out and the land toward which he was heading. Whichever is closer, he is of its people." They measured the distance between them, and he was closer to the righteous town by the span of a hand. It is said that this amount resulted from the fact that, as he was on the way, he was pushing his chest toward the town to which he had migrated, so he became closer to it by a hand's span. Thus, the angels of mercy took his soul. If Allah accepted his repentance, or not? If Allah accepted his repentance. But our repentance, and praise be to Allah, this Ummah does not need to migrate. A person repents while he is in his own town, if he is able to establish his religion and manifest his religion. Do you have questions? Good. If we return to the questions, if Allah wills.

The questioner : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and blessings and peace be upon the noblest of the prophets and messengers.
