Is there any advice for the authorities and parents regarding the danger of a small child driving a car without a driver's license, and if a person dies as a result of that child, is the sin upon the guardian who allowed him to use the car?

The questioner : May Allah reward the honorableThe Shaykh : This is a serious matter that has become prevalent among people today, in that we see many small children who are allowed to drive cars without any license qualifying them to do so. Is there any advice for the authorities among you, and any advice for the parents present, to explain the danger of this? And if it happens that a person dies because of that child, is the sin upon the guardian who allowed him to use that car, since he is a minor, and Allah has forbidden us to give our wealth to minors? How much more so is it regarding that which takes lives? Is there any advice and guidance? May Allah guide you.

The Shaykh : Yes, my advice to fathers is not to allow their small children to drive cars, even if they have a viewpoint they think is correct. Some of them say, "I allow him to drive the car so that I can do without hiring a driver whose trustworthiness we do not know and whose integrity we do not know. He is my son, so I can do without others." This is not a correct viewpoint. Rather, these small children become a danger to themselves, and the danger comes from them, and many accidents occur as a result. I have seen, some time ago, a boy driving a car. When he wanted to turn right, he was unable to see the street on the right, so he stood on his feet to look until he could turn the car. Yes, is this permissible? It is not permissible for us to allow these people to do so. As the questioner said, if Allah the Exalted has forbidden us to give our wealth to minors, how can we give them or entrust them with driving a car that poses a danger to them and to others? So my advice to fathers is to wait. And if they are unable to drive the car themselves to take the daughters, for example, to school or to run errands, let them choose a trustworthy driver to drive the car. However, if they choose a trustworthy driver, it is not permissible for this driver to be alone with the woman; rather, it is necessary that there be women with her or a mature mahram. Yes.
