If a man has performed his obligatory Hajj, is it permissible for him to perform Hajj on behalf of his parents, and what is better: performing Hajj on their behalf, or performing Hajj voluntarily for himself and making du'a for them?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says: Your Eminence, a person wants to perform Hajj and has already performed his obligatory Hajj and voluntary Hajj. Is it permissible for him to include one of his relatives, such as his parents, in his Hajj and 'Umrah? And is it better to perform Hajj for his parents and 'Umrah for them, or is it better to perform Hajj for himself and make du'a for them?

The Shaykh : As for including someone else in a Hajj or 'Umrah, this is not valid, meaning it is not possible for an 'Umrah or a Hajj to be for two people.
As for whether he performs Hajj for his mother and father, or performs Hajj for himself and makes du'a for his mother and father, performing Hajj for himself and making du'a for his mother and father is better and more excellent. This is because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
When a man dies, his deeds come to an end, except for three: A continuous charity, knowledge by which people derive benefit, pious son who prays for him. إذا مات الإنسان انقطع عمله إلا من ثلاث صدقة جارية، أو علم ينتفع به، أو ولد صالح يدعو له
Riyad as-Salihin 949
He did not mention Hajj, fasting, or charity, even though the context of the hadith is about deeds. This indicates that making du'a for one's parents is better than a person praying for them, or performing 'Umrah, or performing Hajj. So my advice to this brother who is asking is to perform Hajj for himself and make du'a for his parents. Yes.
