The questioner : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
He says:The questioner : May Allah reward you, O honorable father. The hearts are broken by what has befallen our brothers in Bosnia, as you mentioned, and the pain increases as we hear, as you also mentioned, of these violations in marriages. How can this situation be? Is it not obligatory that the people of Islam, especially the people of this peninsula, declare a state of easing off from these luxuries and extravagance, restrict themselves to necessities, and direct the surplus to our brothers there? Did not 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) refrain from meat in the year of famine? Is there any one who will listen, and any one who will call out? May Allah benefit you.

The Shaykh : What I see, as the brother said, is that in light of this great trial, which nearly melts the heart from grief, if there is Islam and faith in the heart, we should restrict ourselves to necessities, and make what is left over from these feasts and these dowries and other things available for our brothers there.
And we are, if Allah wills, confident of relief. We ask Allah the Exalted to make what has befallen our brothers an expiation for their sins and an elevation of their ranks. And while this, by Allah, concerns us greatly, it concerns us even more that there be Islamic lands where the call to prayer is proclaimed and the words of the Most Merciful are taught, and where afterwards the call is made to crosses and bells and the reading of abrogated, distorted, and altered books, and their brothers, the Christians, in the East and the West drum behind this and rejoice in it, and they want to destroy the Muslim community, especially there in their own homeland. But we say: We ask Allah the Strong, the Mighty, to turn their strength into weakness, and their glory into humiliation, and to satisfy our eyes with their abandonment and the victory of our brothers. Yes.
