Your Eminence, it is the truth that one should go to the knowledge, and you are the people to whom one should come.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says: Your Eminence, it is the truth that one should go to the knowledge, and you are the people to whom one should come. However, our Shaykh, we have elderly people and women, and our homes are far from this bustling mosque. Their spirits are too weak to attend. You have a model in our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and our righteous predecessors in their movement to call people to Allah, and you are proceeding in this manner, praise be to Allah. But in this blessed gathering, is it possible to move from one neighborhood to another in the large mosques of the city after the end of the lessons, i.e., during the question time? We would be honored by that. Do not say, “Your Eminence, the tape is enough,” for the one who sees is not like the one who hears.

The Shaykh : This questioner took precautions for himself. I used to say that I would come to you and attend to you via the tape, but the man took precautions for himself. There is no doubt that the one who hears is not equal to the one who sees. However, if he argues with me using the tape or this word, I will argue with him that knowledge is something to which one goes, yes, and one does not go to knowledge. But we have a good example in the Messenger of Allah. One of the women said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him):
O Messenger of Allah, the men have outdone us in reaching you, so appoint a day for us on which you come to us. يا رسول الله غلبنا عليك الرجال فاجعل لنا يوماً تأتينا فيه
So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed a day for them and came to them, admonishing and reminding them. In my opinion, praise be to Allah, the lands are now close together, and cars bring some of them closer to others, so the matter is easy, if Allah wills. And I say: Count it as a good deed and attend to the knowledge, for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
he who treads the path in search of knowledge, Allah would make that path easy, leading to Paradise for him من سلك طريقاً يلتمس فيه علماً سهل الله له به طريقاً إلى الجنة
