The story of the People of the Sabbath and the trial through the facilitation of sin.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The trial through the facilitation of sin is mentioned regarding previous nations and in this Ummah. So in previous nations, this brother of ours explains, yes, the trial through the facilitation of sin in previous nations. Give us an example of it. Allah the Exalted said:
And ask them about the town that was by the sea - when they transgressed in [the matter of] the sabbath - when their fish came to them openly on their sabbath day, and the day they had no sabbath they did not come to them. Thus did We give them trial because they were defiantly disobedient.
[Al-A'raf 7:163]
Allah forbade this group of Jews to hunt fish on the day of the Sabbath. They remained in that state for a period of time, so Allah tried them, and the fish would come on the day of the Sabbath in large numbers upon the surface of the water, whereas on days other than the Sabbath, they would not see them. The Jews were people of cunning, treachery, and betrayal, and people of greed and stinginess. They said, "How can we climb up to the fish? Every week they do not come to us, and on the day of the Sabbath they come to us, and we are forbidden from hunting them. What shall we do? We will be deprived of them." They said, "Devising a trick is permissible. Set a net on Friday, and when the fish come on the day of the Sabbath, they will enter the net. Once they enter, they will not be able to get out. Then on Sunday, come to the net and take the fish in it." This is a trick, is it not? They would say, "We did not hunt on the day of the Sabbath at all. We did not hunt at all. We placed the net on Friday, and the fish came on the day of the Sabbath, and we took the fish on Sunday." Do you know what Allah did to them?
And you had already known about those who transgressed among you concerning the sabbath, and We said to them, "Be apes, despised." ولقد علمتم الذين اعتدوا منكم في السبت فقلنا لهم كونوا قردة خاسئين
[Al-Baqarah 2:65]
Allah the Mighty and Majestic commanded them to become monkeys. Was this a cosmic command or a legislative command? A cosmic command. A cosmic command to become monkeys. And Allah the Mighty and Majestic intended for them to become monkeys because the monkey is the most similar to the human being. This is why Darwin, who is a monkey, said that the origin of the children of Adam is monkeys. Because the monkey is the most similar to the human being, and indeed, these people were similar to what is permissible, because its appearance is permissibility and its reality is prohibition, so Allah the Exalted turned them into monkeys.
Be apes, despised." كونوا قردة خاسئين
[Al-Baqarah 2:65]
But the monkeys that exist now are not the monkeys into which this group of Jews was turned. So beware of striking a monkey tomorrow and saying, "O Jew." Yes, because the monkeys into which the children of Israel were transformed have vanished and perished. They vanished and perished completely. So these monkeys are a distinct species of animal. Do you see this trial? Is it not a trial from Allah that the fish would come in large numbers on the day of the Sabbath and cease on days other than the Sabbath? Did the children of Israel not have patience with that? They devised tricks to circumvent the prohibitions of Allah.
