His Eminence the Shaykh: We would like to hear a few brief words from you about the state of the Muslim world these days.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says: His Eminence the Shaykh, we would like to hear a few brief words from you about the state of the Muslim world these days?

The Shaykh : I am unable to inform you of this, because it would require me to travel through all the Muslim countries and stay with each government and state for two or three months in order to inspect the conditions in the villages and cities. However, based on what we hear from the radio broadcasts, the people are in waves of fitnah (trial, discord or temptation): in killing, destruction, and other such matters. We complain to Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and it is astonishing that the fighting and destruction may be among Muslims themselves, as you hear. For this reason, we ask Allah (Mighty and Majestic) to provide every Muslim country with a righteous leadership that will guide them by the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). If the people return to the Book and the Sunnah, they will find happiness and success in this world and the Hereafter.
Yes.

The questioner : He says: May the Shaykh please tell us, if a man in the midday prayer drops his handkerchief while standing, and he bends down to pick it up, does this movement invalidate his prayer?

The Shaykh : Yes, his prayer is invalidated by this movement, because if he bows down to the point of ruku' (the bowing of prayer), he has added an extra bowing. However, if he was ignorant of the ruling, he owes nothing, due to the generality of the statement of Allah the Exalted:
Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. رَبَّنَا لا تُؤَاخِذْنَا إِنْ نَسِينَا أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا
[Al-Baqarah 2:286]
