A man has six sons and did not perform the sacrifice for all but one of them; what is the ruling?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says: A man has six sons and did not perform the sacrifice for all but one of them; what is the ruling? What is obligatory upon him? And is it obligatory for the sons to complete it for themselves, knowing that three of them are able to do so?

The Shaykh : Yes. If this father who did not perform the sacrifice for all his children is poor, then he owes nothing, because the 'aqiqah is like zakah. Just as there is no zakah upon the poor man, there is no 'aqiqah upon the poor man. But if he says: today, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, then we say: perform the sacrifice for your children for whom you have not performed it. And if one of them wants to perform the sacrifice for himself, let him consult, let him seek permission from his father. And he says: I want to perform the sacrifice for myself, because the one addressed regarding the 'aqiqah is the father. Yes.
