The questioner : What is the ruling on a woman, O honorable Shaykh, who worships Allah, prays, fasts, and reads the Qur'an, but does not cover her head? Does what she does of reading the Qur'an and praying earn her reward with Allah? Guide us, may Allah reward you.

The Shaykh : As for reading the Qur'an, covering the head is not a condition for it, because covering the 'awrah is not a condition for reading the Qur'an. As for prayer, it is not valid unless the 'awrah is covered. The entire body of a free, adult woman is 'awrah in prayer, except her face. It is not obligatory for her to cover her face during prayer, unless there are non-mahram men around her, in which case it is obligatory for her to cover her face from them, because it is not permissible for a woman to uncover her face to anyone other than her husband and her mahrams. Yes.

The questioner : Also, the female listener asks and says.
