And it is astonishing, in a way that never ceases, to find some people striving with utmost effort to fast, but not striving to pray, to the point that it was said to me that some people fast but do not pray.

But there came after them successors who neglected prayer and pursued desires
فَخَلَفَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُوا الصَّلاةَ وَاتَّبَعُوا الشَّهَوَاتِAnd it is astonishing, in a way that never ceases, to find some people striving with utmost effort to fast, but not striving to pray, to the point that it was said to me that some people fast but do not pray.
