The Muslims surrounded the biography of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with some of the extraordinary events and miracles
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The Muslims surrounded the biography of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
The Shaykh : May Allah send prayers and peace upon him.
The questioner : with some of the extraordinary events and miracles. I am asking and saying: To what extent are these miracles authentic, and were they reported in many hadiths? Also, do you not see that these miracles exonerate him from his humanity? We ask you to provide us with information, may Allah bless you.
The Shaykh : The miracle, according to the scholars, is an extraordinary event that Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) manifests through the hand of the Messenger to support him. Most of the scholars called them miracles, and it is more appropriate to call them signs, which are the indicators of the truthfulness of the Messenger and the correctness of what he brought, as Allah (Mighty and Majestic) named them. They are clearer and more apparent than the term "miracles," so it is more appropriate to call the miracles of the prophets the signs of the prophets. The signs that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) brought are numerous, tangible and intangible, terrestrial and celestial, moral and practical; they are diverse. The greatest and clearest of them is the Book of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), as Allah the Exalted said:[Al-'Ankabut 29:50-51] Among the celestial signs of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) is that a man entered on a Friday while the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering the sermon and said: "O Messenger of Allah! The wealth has perished and the paths have been cut off, so call upon Allah to relieve us." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his hands and said: Sahih Muslim 897a Anas, the narrator of the hadith, said: "By Allah, there was no cloud in the sky, nor a wisp of vapor" meaning a piece of cloud, "and between us and Sal' there was no house or dwelling" and Sal' is a well-known mountain in Medina from which clouds emerge. Anas said: "A cloud emerged from behind him like a shield, and when it reached the middle of the sky, it spread and thundered and flashed, then it rained. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not descend from his pulpit until the rain was dripping from his beard, and the rain continued to fall for a full week. In the second Friday, a man, or the first man, entered and said: 'O Messenger of Allah! The wealth has been drowned and the buildings have collapsed, so call upon Allah to hold it back from us.' The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his hands and said: Mishkat al-Masabih 5902 And he (peace and blessings be upon him) pointed to the sides, and wherever he pointed, the clouds parted, and the people went out walking in the sun".
And whoever wants more of that, let him refer to what the Hafiz Ibn Kathir (may Allah have mercy on him) wrote in his book "Al-Bidaya wa al-Nihaya" and to what Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah mentioned before him in his book "Al-Jawab al-Sahih li Man Baddala Din al-Masih" and many other scholars have written in this area. The signs of the prophets have three benefits. The first is the indication of the attributes of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) that they imply, such as power, wisdom, mercy, and others.
The second is the support of the Messengers (peace and blessings be upon them) and the clarification that they are truthful in what they brought.
And the third is the mercy to creation. If creation had not witnessed these signs from the prophets, they would have denied and lied. These signs come so that they may increase in tranquility and accept what the Messengers brought, and submit and comply with it. And Allah is All-Knowing, Wise.
And as for the sayingThe questioner : Do these signs not exonerate him from human conditions? We say to him: No, these signs do not take him out of being a human being. Therefore, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made a mistake in his prayer, he said to them:Sahih Muslim 572j The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) clarified that he is a human being and that what befalls humans, such as forgetfulness and other things, befalls him, except that he (peace and blessings be upon him) distinguished himself from humans by the revelation that Allah revealed to him and by the noble morals and good deeds that Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) endowed him with, such as patience, generosity, kindness, courage, and others, by which he became worthy of the message. And Allah knows best where to place His message. And it should be known that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) does not know the unseen, nor does he possess benefit or harm for himself, nor does he possess that for others. Allah said to him: [Al-An'am 6:50] And Allah said to him: [Al-Jinn 72:21-23] And by this it becomes clear that whoever calls upon the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) and seeks his help after his death and seeks refuge in him is on clear misguidance, having directed the matter to one who is not its rightful owner. For the one who is the rightful owner of that, namely calling and seeking refuge, is the Lord of the worlds (Mighty and Majestic). Allah the Exalted said: [Ghafir 40:60] And He said: [Al-Ahqaf 46:5] And He said: [Al-Mu'minun 23:117].
So, O my Muslim brother! Do not call upon anyone other than Allah. Whatever blessing you have is from Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and if hardship touches you, do not cry out except to Allah (Mighty and Majestic):[An-Naml 27:62] So fear Allah in yourself, and place the truth in its proper place, and do not exaggerate in your religion with other than the truth, so that you become similar to the People of the Book, the Jews and the Christians.
The questioner : May Allah reward you, O Shaykh Muhammad. The listener is Abdul Aziz al-Hajj al-Khartum from Sudan, he says.
The questioner : What is the meaning of His saying, the Exalted:[Al-An'am 6:143]?
The Shaykh : Yes. This verse and what follows it, Allah the Exalted clarifies therein the types of livestock that He has made lawful for us. He (Glorified and Exalted is He) clarifies that they are eight types: male and female from sheep, male and female from goats, male and female from camels, and male and female from cows. Then He (Mighty and Majestic) says:[Al-An'am 6:143] He refutes thereby the polytheists who forbade from these types what they wished and permitted what they wished, and they said: [Al-An'am 6:139] The noble verse indicates that it is not permissible for anyone to permit or forbid anything except by the permission of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). For permitting and forbidding, obligating and recommending, all of it is for Allah (Mighty and Majestic). No one has the right to precede Allah and His Messenger in it: [An-Nahl 16:116].
On this occasion, I would like to mention to the listener two important rules indicated by the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Muslims have agreed upon them. The first rule is that the original ruling in acts of worship is prohibition and prevention until evidence of legitimacy is established.
And the second rule is that the original ruling in everything else is permissibility and lawfulness until evidence of prohibition is established.
The evidence for the first rule is His saying, the Exalted:[Ash-Shuraa 42:21] and the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Sahih Muslim 1718a And in another wording: Sahih Muslim 1718b.
And the evidence for the second is His saying, the Exalted:[Al-Baqarah 2:29] and His saying, the Exalted: [Al-Jathiyah 45:13] and the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sunan Abi Dawud 3800Sahih in chain (Al-Albani).
And based on this, whoever worships Allah the Exalted with something of words or actions or beliefs and has no evidence from the Book or the Sunnah, then his worship is rejected, and indeed he is sinful for it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sunan an-Nasa'i 1578Sahih (Darussalam) And whoever forbids something other than acts of worship, we say to him: Bring the evidence for what you said, otherwise you have said what you have no knowledge of. Yes.
The questioner : May Allah bless you. This soldier has symbolized his name with S Q L from Manfuha, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh. The message is long, O honorable Shaykh. It begins with "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful" and "Peace be upon you and Allah's mercy and blessings." He says: The truth is that I am impressed with the program "Nur 'ala al-Darb" for the great benefits it contains that benefit Muslims in their religious and worldly affairs. So may Allah reward us with the best reward, and may Allah reward our honorable scholars.
The Shaykh : May Allah send prayers and peace upon him.

(50) But they say, "Why are not signs sent down to him from his Lord?" Say, "The signs are only with Allah, and I am only a clear warner." (51) And is it not sufficient for them that We revealed to you the Book which is recited to them? Indeed in that is a mercy and reminder for a people who believe.
O Allah, send down rain upon us; O Allah, send dowp rain upon us; O Allah, send down rain upon us
O God, round about us, but not on us; O God, on the mounds and knolls, in the basins of the wadis and in the plantations.
Verily I am a human being like you, I forget just as you forget.
Say, [O Muhammad], "I do not tell you that I have the depositories [containing the provision] of Allah or that I know the unseen, nor do I tell you that I am an angel. I only follow what is revealed to me."
(21) Say, "Indeed, I do not possess for you [the power of] harm or right direction." (22) Say, "Indeed, there will never protect me from Allah anyone [if I should disobey], nor will I find in other than Him a refuge. (23) But [I have for you] only notification from Allah, and His messages."
And your Lord says, "Call upon Me; I will respond to you." Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell [rendered] contemptible.
And who is more astray than he who invokes besides Allah those who will not respond to him until the Day of Resurrection, and they, of their invocation, are unaware.
And whoever invokes besides Allah another deity for which he has no proof - then his account is only with his Lord. Indeed, the disbelievers will not succeed.
So, O my Muslim brother! Do not call upon anyone other than Allah. Whatever blessing you have is from Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and if hardship touches you, do not cry out except to Allah (Mighty and Majestic):
Is He [not best] who responds to the desperate one when he calls upon Him and removes evil and makes you inheritors of the earth? Is there a deity with Allah
The questioner : May Allah reward you, O Shaykh Muhammad. The listener is Abdul Aziz al-Hajj al-Khartum from Sudan, he says.
The questioner : What is the meaning of His saying, the Exalted:
[They are] eight mates - of the sheep
The Shaykh : Yes. This verse and what follows it, Allah the Exalted clarifies therein the types of livestock that He has made lawful for us. He (Glorified and Exalted is He) clarifies that they are eight types: male and female from sheep, male and female from goats, male and female from camels, and male and female from cows. Then He (Mighty and Majestic) says:
Say, "Is it the two males He has forbidden or the two females or that which the wombs of the two females contain?
What is in the bellies of these animals is exclusively for our males and forbidden to our females. But if it is [born] dead, then all of them have shares therein
And do not say about what your tongues assert of untruth, "This is lawful and this is unlawful," to invent falsehood about Allah
The evidence for the first rule is His saying, the Exalted:
Or have they other deities who have ordained for them a religion to which Allah has not consented?
A'isha reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: He who innovates things in our affairs for which there is no valid (reason) (commits sin) and these are to be rejected.
He who did any act for which there is no sanction from our behalf, that is to be rejected.
And the evidence for the second is His saying, the Exalted:
It is He who created for you all of that which is on the earth
And He has subjected to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth - all from Him
Indeed, Allah has prescribed obligations, so do not neglect them; He has set limits, so do not transgress them; and He has been silent about certain things out of mercy for you, so do not inquire into them.
إن الله فرض فرائض فلا تضيّعوها، وحد حدوداً فلا تعتدوها، وسكت عن أشياء رحمة بكم فلا تبحثوا عنهاwhat he said nothing about is allowable
And based on this, whoever worships Allah the Exalted with something of words or actions or beliefs and has no evidence from the Book or the Sunnah, then his worship is rejected, and indeed he is sinful for it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
every innovation is going astray, and every going astray is in the Fire
