The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 6397 ):

Q4: A year ago, a book titled [The Prophet's Predictions] was published in Thailand . This book is a translation of an English book titled [Israel and the Prophecies in the Qur'an] by an author named ( Ali Akbar ). The author has addressed all the hadiths regarding the major events, trials, and signs of the Hour, interpreting them in a way that poses a danger to the faith of young Muslims. For example, he claims that (the Dajjal) refers to superstitions or Western civilization, (Yajuj and Majuj) are the great powers, (Jesus, peace be upon him) has died and his affair is finished, and (the Dabbah) is a euphemism for the scum of humanity or modern inventions, among other such interpretations. The publishers of the Thai edition responded that these matters have nothing to do with creed, that there is no difference between one who believes in them and one who denies them, and that they do not affect the faith of a Muslim in any way. Is this statement correct, and what is the answer to these people?
Vol. 4: It is obligatory for the Muslim to believe in what Allah has informed us of and what the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has informed us of,
such as the signs of the Hour and other matters. Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) described the righteous in the beginning of Surat al-Baqarah as those who believe in the unseen, praised them, and made it clear that they are on guidance from their Lord and that they are successful. These matters have been established through the reports of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and some of them are indicated by the Noble Qur'an. Therefore, it is obligatory to believe in them, and it is forbidden to deny any of them or to interpret their texts away from their apparent meanings. Whoever denies them or interprets them away from their apparent meanings has strayed from the straight path. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
