What is the ruling on adorning oneself with henna when a woman is menstruating?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the ruling on adorning oneself with henna when a woman is menstruating?

The Shaykh : Adorning oneself with henna is permissible, especially for a married woman who adorns herself with it for her husband. As for an unmarried woman, the correct view is that it is permissible for her, but she should not display it to people, because it is part of her adornment. Doing so during menstruation is permissible. Women have asked frequently about this: is it permissible for a woman to apply henna to her head, hands, or feet while she is menstruating?
The answer to this is that there is nothing wrong with it. As we know, henna leaves a mark, specifically a coloring effect on the area where it is applied. This color does not prevent water from reaching the skin, as some might imagine. When the woman washes it off the first time, the physical substance of the henna is removed, but the colored mark remains, and there is nothing wrong with that.
