The Shaykh Al-Albani’s condemnation of all Muslims entering parliaments or running for office, and an explanation of the reason for this.

The Shaykh : We condemn all Muslims for entering parliaments, because it is one of the clearest manifestations of loyalty to those who rule by other than what Allah has revealed. Just last month, a discussion took place between me and a man from your country regarding this specific issue. I clearly remember that I asked him the following question, and this is one of the wonders of how our brothers are influenced by certain calls that contain some deviation. I said to him: "Do you not know that there are currently some Arab Muslim members in the Jewish parliament, in what is called the Knesset?" He said: "Yes." I said to him: "What is your opinion? Is it permissible for a Muslim to enter the Jewish parliament for the sake of reform?" He remained silent for a long time until I was almost fed up with him. I said to him: "What is the matter?" He said: "I am thinking." I said to him: "This means that you are still in doubt about this issue, and you are hesitating about it!"
