The Shaykh Ibn Baz explained the hadith (that Allah will take out of the Fire whoever said "There is no god but Allah" without having done any good deed) by saying that this man said "There is no god but Allah"

The questioner: I mean, I am still confused about the issue of the one who abandons prayer. I asked some of those close to the Shaykh Ibn Baz (may Allah preserve him), and may Allah reward you and prolong your life and your presence.

The Shaykh : May Allah reward you.

The questioner: He understood the hadith to mean that Allah will take out of Hell, and may Allah protect us from it and its people, anyone who has in his heart the weight of a mustard seed or less of faith, and anyone who said "There is no god but Allah" without having done a good deed. I was told that he understood it, or that the Shaykh Ibn Baz interpreted it, to mean that this man said "There is no god but Allah" sincerely from his heart, but he was not given the opportunity to do anything; he said it and then died. So I mean, I am still confused.

The Shaykh: You should read, my brother, my letter on the one who abandons prayer. Read it and you will find the answer to this understanding that you are conveying now. This is very far-fetched, because the righteous intercessors on the Day of Resurrection are told, "Look, take them out of the Fire." They say, "They are taking out a large group," and then they say
O Lord, our brothers who used to testify with us that there is no god but Allah, and they used to not pray, are being taken out يا رب بقي إخواننا كانوا يشهدون معنا أن لا إله إلا الله وكانوا وكانوا لا يصلون فيخرجون
. This cannot be interpreted to mean that he testified but was not given the opportunity to pray. This is an interpretation for other hadiths that I included in a specific letter. You have undoubtedly not looked at the letter.
The student: I have not looked at it.

The Shaykh: Yes, and my advice is to ask about it. Perhaps you will find it in the market, if Allah wills.
