Does the one who performs Hajj on behalf of his deceased father enter the state of ihram from his own miqat or from his father's miqat?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : My father came for 'Umrah in Ramadan, and he traveled to Yemen. His intention was to come back to perform Hajj, but he died in Ramadan. Do I have to perform Hajj on his behalf?

The Shaykh : How is it that you are asking about 'Umrah and not about Hajj?

The questioner : It is Hajj. He did not perform the Hajj of Islam. He intended to return to perform the Hajj of Islam, but he died before he could perform it.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : So do I have to perform Hajj for him? I have already performed the Hajj of Islam.

The Shaykh : Who is performing it on his behalf?

The questioner : I am. I am his son.

The Shaykh : Are you talking about your father?

The questioner : Yes, exactly.

The Shaykh : This has already been discussed. You perform it on his behalf.

The questioner : Okay; and do I go to the miqat? My father's miqat was the miqat of Yemen.

The Shaykh : Where do you reside?

The questioner : I reside in Jeddah now.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : I go to my father's miqat...

The Shaykh : That is the more complete and obligatory thing. You return to the miqat.

The questioner : I return to the miqat.

The Shaykh : His miqat.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh: Yes.
Please proceed.

The questioner : May Allah bless you, O Shaykh.
