You mentioned that a weak hadith can be strengthened by itself; how is that possible?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : You mentioned that a weak hadith can be strengthened by itself in one of your books.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : The way it is strengthened is through corroborating narrations.

The Shaykh : The way is: "Do not fight my heart with your eyes, for two weak ones overcome a strong one." Do you know that?

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : Now, do you know from the Noble Qur'an that the testimony of a woman is half that of a man? So if eight women are present, they overcome two men because their testimony is stronger. This is the case. Is the testimony of one woman sufficient to establish a legal right? The answer is no. But if it is joined with another, it becomes stronger, and if two more women are joined with it, it becomes even stronger, and so on with the hadith. When the scholars of hadith said that a hadith is strengthened by its chains, they derived that from the Qur'an and the Sunnah. Peace be upon you.
