The Shaykh mentions the reasons for the failure of the Salvation Front in Algeria

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Introduction: Now we want to restore the Muslim society according to the methodology of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and what our righteous predecessors were upon. We agree in thought but differ in application, and this is the important point. So when you ask me a question, you look at the subject of the parliament, my brother. This is an effect; let us look at the cause. What is the cause? The cause is the correct or incorrect understanding. Now I say: What happened in Algeria, was it the result of this caller and those around him acting upon the methodology of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? Whenever we start investigating here, you enter into the issue of parliament. My brother, the ruling on parliament is derived from investigating the root, which is: Was this movement that took place in Algeria ten or twenty years ago, etc., upon the methodology of prophethood and the message? You say yes. Fine. We asked you, and we proceeded in the subject: How many Algerians are there? Twenty-five million Muslims. How many scholars do they need to achieve purification and education? You said at least a thousand. Fine, there is not even one scholar. My Shaykh, the one who started this movement is a student of knowledge, if not a seeker of knowledge. We passed by him here, met with him, and asked him questions. He went to Iraq and went to meet Saddam Hussein. And what do you know about Saddam Hussein? And he met with what he met with from him. This Salafi went to meet Saddam Hussein. Why? He refused to tell us what he had, and we were frank with him. We said, my brother, we are closer to you, and you are closer to us. You are not closer to Saddam, nor is Saddam closer to us than we are. We are closer, and we are the believers who are sincere. There was no response. So how do you imagine that he was upon a Salafi methodology and upon the Sunnah of the Messenger (peace be upon him) in his calling, when there are not a thousand scholars, not a hundred scholars, and not even one scholar? This perception is very strange. And you keep saying, "He wants to enter parliament. What does he want to do in parliament?"
