The one who does not pray but fasts and pays zakah: do these two obligations fall off him?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Al-Halabi : The one who does not pray but fasts and pays zakah: do these two obligations fall off him?

The Shaykh : Yes, they fall off him, in the sense that the one who fasts and pays zakah while at the same time not praying is not like the one who does not pray, does not fast, and does not pay zakah. This is based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:
(7) So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it, (8) And whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it. فمن يعمل مثقال ذرّة خيرا يره و من يعمل مثقال ذرّة شرّا يره
[Az-Zalzalah 99:7-8]
However, there is a fear that the one who fasts and pays zakah while at the same time not praying will not benefit from his fasting and his zakah, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
The first thing the servant will be held accountable for on the Day of Resurrection is the prayer. If it is complete, he will have succeeded and prospered. If it is deficient, he will have failed and lost. أوّل ما يحاسب العبد يوم القيامة الصّلاة فإن تمّت فقد أفلح و أنجح و إن نقصت فقد خاب و خسر
So, woe to you, some evil is less than some. The one who does not pray but fasts and pays zakah is better than the one who does not pray, does not fast, and does not pay zakah.
