Clarification that the path for Muslims to regain their glory and honor is by returning to the Book and the Sunnah

The Shaykh : ... So today we have added to those differences in choosing the path for Muslims to regain what they have lost of glory and honor. This is a known matter, so what is the way and what is the path? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us in this hadith to return to the religion. Malik (may Allah have mercy on him), the Imam of the City of Migration, emphasized that this religion by which we are honored and saved from humiliation cannot be based on later understandings, but only on the understanding that existed in that earliest, brightest era. Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) said at the end of his previous report: "The latter part of this Ummah will not be set right except by what set right its first part. What was not a religion at that time will not be a religion today." Our reality today is that the religion has many, very many concepts, not only in what some call the branches, but even in what is called the fundamentals and the creed. This contradicts what many professors and doctors in the universities of this time often say, where they soften and downplay the existing disagreement among Muslims, both past and present, by saying the disagreement is in the branches and not in the fundamentals. The least that can be said about this statement is that reality refutes it. Reality refutes this claim that the disagreement among Muslims is only in the branches and not in the fundamentals. However, before I give one example of how the disagreement extends from the branches to the fundamentals, I want to remind you, for the reminder benefits the believers, that the Islamic division into branches and fundamentals is an innovation that Islam does not accept. Therefore, abandoning this division is part of what falls under the Imam's previous statement: "The latter part of this Ummah will not be set right except by what set right its first part."
