The Response to Those Who Say: Allah Exists in All of Existence

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : ... It may be difficult for some people to accept this example. Therefore, I conclude this talk with an example you hear every day, perhaps more than once, when one of them mentions Allah and says, "There is no god but Allah, Allah exists in every place, Allah exists in all of existence." This phrase is said in every gathering, including those with jurists, scholars, and doctors, and you do not hear a sound from any of them denying this expression. It is contrary to the Islamic creed, regarding which one of them said:
"And the Lord of the Throne is above the Throne, but without any description of being established upon it or connected to it."
And Imam Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak, who is cited as an example of his jihad in the path of Allah in his time, and who was one of the great shaykhs of Imam Ahmad, the Imam of the Sunnah, said, "Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He..." Remember this phrase, for it summarizes the correct creed in a very short expression. It is the essence of the verses concerning Allah's rising above His Throne on one hand, and His knowledge encompassing His servants on the other. Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak said, "Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, is above His Throne with His Essence." This is the first phrase from him. "Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, is above His Throne with His Essence, distinct from His creation, and He is with them with His knowledge." The point of Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak's statement is his saying, "distinct from His creation." What does "distinct" mean? It means self-sufficient, and He is the One who is free of need from all the worlds. Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, was, and there was nothing with Him, then He created the Throne and created the heavens and the earth, as is known in the Book and the Sunnah. So He is distinct from His creation. This is truly the creed of the people of the Sunnah and the community. So what is the creed of the Muslims today? It is summarized in the previous phrase: Allah exists in every place, Allah exists in all of existence...
