Is plural marriage permissible solely for the sake of enjoyment and pleasure?

A man has abundant wealth, and the first thing he does when his wealth increases is to think about marrying another woman in addition to his wife, not for the purpose of building a family, but for the purpose of pleasure.

The Shaykh : Do you mean you want him to act in a forbidden manner?

The questioner : No, I am asking about the purpose.

The Shaykh : It is permissible, yes.

The questioner : Is there nothing wrong with him?

The Shaykh : Absolutely not, there is nothing wrong with him. But we command him to add to this permissible act a recommended practice, which is to increase the number of the Ummah of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and to increase his reward with his Lord by raising his offspring and progeny, and so on.
