There are matters that the Tabligh group performs, such as supplicating collectively after the lesson, and appointing one of them in the mosque to remember Allah when they go out.

Ali Hasan: He saysThe questioner : There are matters that the Tabligh group specializes in, such as supplicating collectively after the lesson, and supplicating before going out on the round, and placing a person for dhikr during the going out of the round, which they call "the dhamma." If he becomes negligent, the round is spoiled.

The Shaykh : I did not understand that.
Ali: During the going out of the round, they leave one person for dhikr in the mosque.

Another questioner : He remembers Allah.
Ali: He remembers Allah, and if the round has no return, well, they say...

The Shaykh : He is shortcoming.
Ali: That this is a shortcoming in the dhikr of the dhamma, and if this, praise be to Allah, we have started to hear a retreat from it and they are reducing it?

The Shaykh : Yes, unfortunately, we say that all these matters are from the innovations and from the bid'ah. It is sufficient for the Sunni Muslim who holds fast to the Sunnah to know from the previous research that this was not from the practice of the Salaf, and we rest from it. Otherwise, every time someone brings us an innovation and we approve of it, we follow him in it. From here came the innovations. In our land of Sham, there is a way of the Sufis called the Naqshbandi. This way differs from the other ways in a misguidance that surpasses the misguidance of the other ways, surpassing all the other misguidances. And it is what they call "al-muraqabah" (supervision). I think that these people established the place of al-muraqabah. This misguidance, what is al-muraqabah in the Naqshbandi way? They impose on the student, or the murid, excuse me, because this is their terminology, when the murid comes wanting to take the way fromThe Shaykh : he pledges allegiance to him for the way and conditions upon him that when he sits to remember Allah, it is not permissible for him to supervise Allah, but rather he supervisesThe Shaykh : because this murid cannot reach Allah except by the way of thisThe Shaykh : As for following the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah, this does not lead him to Allah, but ratherThe Shaykh : he is the one who leads and they mention, and this is in printed letters, they mention that one of these shaykhs was walking with a murid of his after he had taken from him the pledge of allegiance to obey him, by analogy to the taking of al-Khidr (peace be upon him) the pledge of allegiance from Musa.
May I follow you on [the condition] that you teach me from what you have been taught of sound judgement?" (67) He said, "Indeed, with me you will never be able to have patience. هل أتبعك على أن تعلمن مما علمت رشدا قال إنك لن تستطيع معي صبرا
[Al-Kahf 18:66-67]
The shaykh walkedThe Shaykh : and the murid with him until he reached the shore of the sea, and he did not see exceptThe Shaykh : the shaykh took the hand of the murid and started to wade in it. What is the sea? Do you know the sea? It is gradual. So the story goes, and believe, if this story is authentic and printed, the shaytan came and whispered to the murid, saying: "When you felt the drowning, the murid came to seek aid from Allah the Exalted and Majestic, and the shaytan said to him: How can you seek aid from Allah and leaveThe Shaykh : ? He stood upThe Shaykh : and revealed to the murid, they claimed, and knew what the shaytan whispered to him, that it is not permissible for you to seek aid fromThe Shaykh : and leave the Lord of the Worlds. The Shaykh : He revealed this matter. He stood up and said to him:The Shaykh : What is your advice? I must follow you. So he sought aid fromThe Shaykh : and walked with him in the sea until he reached the other shore. He disbelieved in Allah and he saved himThe Shaykh : from the shaytan. And the shaytan was the one who did not advise, yet he was the advisor. The point is that this is from what they say there about the benefits of linking the heart of the murid to the heart ofThe Shaykh : They say: If you sit to remember Allah, do not supervise the Lord of the Worlds, because you are not able to, but rather superviseThe Shaykh : , and recently, before I came here more than eleven years ago, a phenomenon appeared in the houses of these Naqshbandis, like this room. If the qiblah is like this, for example, then the picture ofThe Shaykh : is in the front of the place, and around it are light bulbs, so that the murid is revealed this picture which he should supervise, and not supervise the Lord of the Worlds (Blessed and Exalted is He). What do they call this? A bond, and in the foreign language they call it

a noble bond. Thus they teach their murids. Where did this bond come from? They approved of it to link the heart of the murid to the heart ofThe Shaykh : Where did they bring this from, which I do not know what they call it? Is this done in the mosque?

Another questioner : Dhamma.

The Shaykh : He remembers Allah, the dhamma. He said that the group is extended by him. First of all, it is assumed that he should be from the righteous, that is what is supposed, so that he means to be sincere in his dhikr, in his connection with his Lord, and so on. And the meaning of this is that they entangled this man, gave him the color that he is a righteous man, and that he is the one who extends them with success in their going out in their da'wah. So there is no doubt that this is from the many innovations, and what came before it likewise. Repeat to us, what are the three things that are here?
Ali Hasan: Supplication after the explanation and the lesson in a collective manner.

The Shaykh : Ah
Ali: One person supplicates and the rest say "Ameen," and likewise the supplication before going out on the round, with the formation in the rounds. They go out and he stands at the door of the mosque and they supplicate a supplication related to the round or the going out?

The Shaykh : All of this comes from ignorance of the Sunnah, and we ask Allah to teach us what benefits us. Otherwise.
