Mentioning two means of acquiring religious knowledge.

The Shaykh : So I return to say that it has become very necessary for those who are keen on understanding the religion to seek knowledge through one of the two means, other than the means of the gatherings of knowledge, because, unfortunately, they have become lost, and we do not need now to delve into the reasons for this loss. As for the two means mentioned, the first is asking questions, and this is the main point, as they say in this phrase. The other means is for a person to read by himself and learn the knowledge on his own. If something becomes difficult for him, or if he is exhausted by understanding a certain phrase or sentence, he will not fail, if Allah wills, to find someone to ask and clarify it for him so that he understands what was difficult for him to understand. Therefore, it is not appropriate today to deliver lectures in the manner of ordinary lectures, because these should be continuous so that a person can grasp what he needs. He might attend a lecture that includes, for example, a discussion related to zakah, and he is poor, so he does not benefit. But he might attend another lecture that includes, for example, matters related to prayer and ritual purity, and things from which no person of obligation is safe. Therefore, the best method in this era, after the other method we mentioned of the Muslim expanding his religious culture through his personal study, is directing questions, because every person needs a type of knowledge that others do not need. And for this reason, we say, as the Lord of the Worlds said: [An-Nahl 16:43] Now we begin to receive questions, starting with the sunnah in everything, which is the oath, so we begin from here. If anyone is here, and the turn goes like this, if anyone here has a question, he raises his hand. No, here we say, on the right.
So ask the people of the message if you do not know.
