What is your opinion on designating a specific day for each student of knowledge to deliver a lecture in the mosque?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh: Go ahead.

The questioner : Regarding the hint about a monthly meeting or something like that.

The Shaykh : Regarding what?

The questioner : We hinted at a monthly meeting for our brothers, as you know. An idea came to my mind.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : If we designate a day of the week in the mosque, during one of the prayers, either 'Asr or Maghrib. Whether we designate a specific day or not, the important thing is that once a week, the brothers come to the 'Asr prayer, for example, or Maghrib, and immediately after the prayer, one of the brothers who is well-versed in jurisprudence, who is ahead in understanding the knowledge, delivers a lecture and opens the door for questions. What is your opinion on this?

The Shaykh : This is obligatory, obligatory if there is no obstacle.

The questioner : What kind of obstacle?

The Shaykh : And how would I know? I am a mufti, not a judge.

The questioner : These days, there is a forum; whether it is artificial or natural, Allah knows best, but I have given the forum to everyone, as you observe.

The Shaykh : Yes, exactly.

The questioner : But there remains in the heart something of fear and doubt.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : The coming days.

The Shaykh : Yes, exactly.

The questioner : Especially for those who... the methodology of the Salaf.

The Shaykh : The ruling, as you know, is his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Convey from me, even if it be an Ayah بلغوا عني ولو آية
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2669Sahih (Darussalam)
Conveying knowledge and teaching people what they need is an obligatory matter, and it is not permissible to conceal it. The punishment for concealing knowledge is known with Allah (Mighty and Majestic). But if, as we said, there is an obstacle, and in that case, I say the people of Makkah know best the valleys of Makkah. If there is an obstacle or not, this is the answer to what you asked. Conveying knowledge is obligatory, and gathering in the mosques, as we mentioned, to convey knowledge is among the circles where the angels gather and mercy descends upon them. But sometimes certain circumstances do not facilitate that, and in that case, the person is accountable to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) as to whether he was able to do it and did not, in which case he is considered negligent and a concealer of knowledge, or whether he was excused. In any case, these are matters in which you must gather three or four of those who understand these issues, discuss and consider them, and agree on a plan that will be the optimal plan, if Allah wills.

The questioner : Yes, may Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : And now, before I miss the opportunity, who is responsible for this room specifically?

The questioner : Khalid.

The Shaykh : Khalid, so if he comes, give me the news. Yes, otherwise, please, please.
