The Shaykh’s discourse on the Mu'tazilah and their creed regarding the issue of divine decree

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : ... So, by way of this occasion, I will give two examples of two schools of thought: one is old and ancient, namely the Mu'tazilah and their like, and the other is new and recent, namely the Qadiyyah. The Mu'tazilah, for example, along with the Shi'ah and the Ibadis today, deny divine decree
That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.
[Al-An'am 6:96]
They deny seeing Allah in the Hereafter, but they do not deny the verses, whether those concerning divine decree or those concerning seeing Allah; rather, they interpret them, twisting and turning them until they align with their desires. So, they claim to follow the Book and the Sunnah, but they contradict what the righteous Salaf were upon. These Salaf are the ones referred to in the saying of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He:
And whoever opposes the Messenger after guidance has become clear to him and follows other than the way of the believers - We will give him what he has taken and drive him into Hell, and evil it is as a destination.
[An-Nisa 4:115]
So, the path of the believers is the path of the righteous Salaf. Therefore, it is not sufficient for those old and new groups to claim to follow the Book and the Sunnah while they play with the meanings of these verses and bring forth new meanings that agree with their desires. A very simple example, and we will not prolong the discussion on it: Allah the Exalted said:
(22) [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, (23) Looking at their Lord.
[Al-Qiyamah 75:22-23]
The Mu'tazilah deny this favor, this divine grace by which Allah bestows upon His servants in the Garden of Pleasure, where they see Him, as one of the distinguished scholars said: "The believers see Him without asking how, without likening Him to creation, and without setting an example for Him." Did they deny the verse? No, they did not deny the verse, but they said:
(22) [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, (23) Looking at their Lord.
[Al-Qiyamah 75:22-23]
meaning, looking toward the pleasure of her Lord. They twisted the verse and denied its reality. When confronted with authentic hadiths, such as his saying, peace be upon him, in explaining the noble verse:
For them who have done good is the best [reward] and extra
[Yunus 10:26]
He, peace be upon him, said, and the hadith is in Sahih Muslim narrated by Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
For them is the best [reward], the Paradise, and the addition of seeing Allah in the Hereafter.
"Hay" is the addition. And the other hadith, which is more famous than the first, is:
You will see your Lord on the Day of Resurrection as you see the moon on the night of the full moon, and you will not be hindered in seeing Him.
When confronted with this hadith, they tell you that these are hadiths, and even if they are authentic, they are ahad hadiths that are not used in creed. So, they believed in the verse, but they disbelieved in its meaning. What is the benefit of this belief if the meaning is disbelieved? This is an example from the old sects, and the Mu'tazilah today, along with the Shi'ah and the Ibadis, are on this school of thought. And on this occasion, the Ibadis now have an activity that was not known before; printing and publishing have become easy, and so on. So, they are now writing many books and papers in order to spread their school of thought and their misguidance...
