Is concealing an illness a charity for which its owner is rewarded, and what if a person asks about the person with the illness or the patient himself?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The questioner says: Is concealing an illness a charity for which its owner is rewarded? And what if a person asks about the person with the illness or the patient himself?

The Shaykh : Concealing an illness is better than announcing it, but announcing it and informing others of it, not in the form of complaining, is permissible. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Woe to him! وا رأساه!
So if the patient is asked, there is no harm in saying, "What is wrong with you?" and he says, "I have such and such," without intending to complain by this, but rather intending to inform, then there is no harm. For this reason, some of the sick used to say, "I am informing, not complaining, I have such and such." It is well known that a person of sound mind cannot complain to a creation about the Creator, because the Creator is more merciful to him than himself and his mother, and complaining to a creation contradicts patience, because its essence is dissatisfaction with the decree and destiny of Allah. And how true are the words of the poet:
"And if I complain to the son of Adam, I am only *** complaining to the One who does not show mercy about the Merciful".

The questioner : May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh, and may Allah bless you and your knowledge, and benefit the Muslims through you.
