The Shaykh’s explanation that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), nor 'Isa (peace be upon him), nor the best of the Companions after him, nor the Successors, nor those after them, did not celebrate [the Prophet's birth]

The Shaykh : It is self-evident that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not celebrate his birth during his lifetime, because celebrating a person's birth is a Christian, Christian method that Islam does not recognize at all in the centuries mentioned above. Therefore, it is even more certain that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not recognize it, because 'Isa himself, whose birth the claimants of following him celebrate, did not celebrate his own birth, even though it was an extraordinary birth. Rather, the celebration of the birth of 'Isa (peace be upon him) is among the religious innovations that the Christians introduced into their religion. As He the Exalted said: [Al-Hadid 57:27] Our Lord the Exalted, these are the innovations that the Christians adopted, including the celebration of the birth of 'Isa. Allah the Exalted did not legislate them; rather, they invented them on their own. Therefore, if 'Isa did not celebrate his birth, then Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) likewise did not celebrate his birth. And Allah the Exalted says: This is part of our Prophet following 'Isa (peace and blessings be upon him), who is also our Prophet, but his prophethood was abrogated and lifted by the prophethood of the Seal of the Prophets and Messengers, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon them both. Therefore, when 'Isa descends in the last of times, as mentioned in the authentic, mass-transmitted hadiths, he will rule by the Shari'ah of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). If Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) did not celebrate his birth, some of those afflicted with this unlegislated celebration, which we are discussing, say: "Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) did not celebrate his birth, but we will say he did not celebrate his birth after his death." The most beloved of people to him among men, and the most beloved of people to him among women, were Abu Bakr and his daughter 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with them both). They did not celebrate the birth of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). Likewise, all the Companions, likewise the Successors, likewise their followers, and so on. Therefore, it is not permissible for a person who fears Allah, stands by the limits of Allah, and takes a lesson from the saying of Allah the Exalted: [Al-Isra 17:36] So let no one among people say, "The Messenger did not celebrate, because this concerns his person." The answer is: None of his Companions, all of them, celebrated him (peace be upon him). So who introduced this celebration after these men who are the best of men, and there is no one better than them after them, absolutely? And women will not give birth to their like at all. From these who, after the passage of these long years, three hundred years and more, passed by without celebrating this celebration or that. Rather, their celebration is of the type I will briefly refer to, as I did earlier. This is sufficient for the Muslim to know that the issue is not a matter of uncontrolled emotion that does not know the legislated limits, but rather it is following and submission to the ruling of Allah the Exalted. And from that is: [Ali 'Imran 3:31] The Messenger of Allah did not celebrate, so we do not celebrate. It is said, "He did not celebrate for his person." We say, "His Companions did not celebrate for his person after him." So where are you going? All paths are blocked before the clear, obvious proof that does not leave any room at all for saying that this religious innovation is good. And among the signs of good news is that some preachers and orators have begun to be forced to acknowledge this reality, which is that this celebration of the Mawlid is a religious innovation and not from the Sunnah. But they lack and need some scientific courage that requires standing before the emotions of people who have lived these long centuries while celebrating. These people seem to be cowardly or weak in proclaiming the truth that they have become convinced of.
