'Id 'Abassi: Our opponents fabricate false lies against us, and we constantly repeat our innocence of them. They claim that we hate the four imams and that we criticize them, and that we make independent legal reasoning obligatory for every Muslim, and that we order everyone to be a scholar qualified to derive rulings and a scholar, and that it is not permissible for them to follow a scholar without knowing his evidence. This is injustice and fabrication, and we have long explained its falsity and our innocence of it. Nevertheless, they do not fear Allah, as they persist in attributing this to us. Allah is a witness that we are innocent of it, as it is said: "the wolf is innocent of the blood of the son of Ya'qub". Even though our books are full of clarifying this reality, some of them, for example, wrote a book filled with proving the permissibility of following a scholar without knowing his evidence and arguing that following a scholar without knowing his evidence is permissible and obligatory for some people. All of this ... is intended to mislead others into thinking that the Salafis deny following a scholar without knowing his evidence. This is a heinous injustice. And even though it has been clarified to him, and he has been informed that the Salafis say that the ignorant person must follow a scholar without knowing his evidence, they still persist in this. This reveals the malice in their hearts, the hatred in their hearts, and the bias ...
