What is the ruling on one who sees the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream and is ordered to go to a specific shaykh so that he can recite the Qur'an for him to be healed?

Eid Abbasi : ... long, the summary of which is that the khatib says: One of the people was struck with paralysis, then he went to Germany for treatment and did not benefit, and he went to al-Madinah and the grave of the Messenger and asked him for intercession, so he saw in a dream that the Messenger was saying to him: Go to the scholar so-and-so in Damascus to recite some verses for you so that the illness will be removed from you ... So what is your opinion regarding that?

The Shaykh : Repeat to me what he saw in the dream.

Eid Abbasi : The Messenger (peace be upon him) says to him: Go to the scholar so-and-so in Damascus, and he will recite something of the Qur'an for you and you will be healed ...?

The Shaykh : Yes, it is possible that he recited this if the report is truthful; because it is possible that a person sees the Messenger (peace be upon him) in a dream truly, and it is possible that he sees it as a delusion, and the supplication of the righteous man often appears like the sun at midday. We do not deny this, but we live in a time in which there is much shirk (associating partners with Allah), and there are superstitions, and there are bid'ah (religious innovations), and there are exaggerations, so we hope that this report is correct and truthful; meaning that there is nothing in it except that he came to the grave of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); so here, what did he do there?

Eid Abbasi : Here he said.

The Shaykh : He did something that is not permissible in the Shari'ah, so we will hold him accountable for it, and perhaps this will lead to the invalidation of the story from the beginning. What did he do?

Eid Abbasi : He said: He asked him to intercede for him, he entered the grave and asked him to intercede for him with Allah ...?

The Shaykh : He is saying: He entered the grave?

Eid Abbasi : Yes, I don't know ... .

The Shaykh : How can this be possible?

Eid Abbasi : Either it is a lie, or he reached the vicinity of the grave, perhaps.

The Shaykh : Yes, it is possible.
Fine.

Eid Abbasi : He asked him to intercede for him; that is, O Messenger of Allah, intercede for me with your Lord so that I may be healed, this is it.

The Shaykh : I have started to feel that the matter is a fabrication; do you know why? Because he asked him for intercession, so apparently he did not intercede for him ... .

Eid Abbasi : ... .

The Shaykh: Yes.
So apparently it is a fabrication ... Allah knows best what they intend in it.
