Is it true that everyone who sees the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream has truly seen him?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Just one question.

The Shaykh: Go ahead.

The questioner : First of all, greetings from the young men of Kuwait.

The Shaykh : Welcome.

The questioner : Your Eminence.

The Shaykh : Peace and mercy of Allah and His blessings be upon you and them.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : And beware of that.

The questioner : The first question is regarding the matter of creed.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner: Is seeing the Prophet - (peace and blessings be upon him) - in a dream a reality?

The Shaykh : I mean, other than the actual ascension while awake.

The questioner : No, in our current time, someone says, "I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream."

The Shaykh : Is it possible to see the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream?

The questioner : Yes, he says, "I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream."

The Shaykh : Excuse me, I seem to have heard a mistake in the word "ascension."

The questioner: No, no.

The Shaykh : Ah, I see.

The questioner : He says, "I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream."

The Shaykh : In a dream, so your question is...

The questioner : Is it true that one can see the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream?

The Shaykh : And why not? Many hadiths have come regarding this.

The questioner : My question is, I mean, "Whoever sees me in a dream has truly seen me."

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : "Whoever sees me in a dream has truly seen me."

The Shaykh : Yes, it is the same.

The questioner : Your Eminence, in the hadith:
This religion does not become sound لا يصلح هذا الدين
.

The Shaykh : Wait, I have finished the first question.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : Your question is deficient and very incomplete, because you asked about a matter that is self-evident in Islam, and you should have phrased the question differently.

The questioner : In detail, but just because I am in a hurry and will travel tomorrow morning.

The Shaykh: Glory be to Allah!

The questioner : After the Fajr prayer.

The Shaykh : This does not justify you asking a question whose answer is clear while withholding the question whose answer is not clear. So, let Allah suffice you. You are in a hurry, and I am in a hurry with you. But as it was said:
"Knowledge, if you seek it, is abundant,
And life is short for acquiring it,
So prioritize the most important of it, for it is the most important."
So the question should have been: "Is it true that everyone who sees the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream has truly seen him?" This is the important question in the topic. This is what the general public should know. We say: First, not everyone who says, "I saw the Messenger in a dream," is truthful. This is a bitter truth, and therefore he (peace be upon him) said in some authentic hadiths:
That whoever claims to have seen with his eyes what he did not see should take his seat from the Fire أنه من أرى عينيه ما لم يَرَ فليتبوَّأ مقعدَه من النار
, meaning: whoever claims to have seen such and such is lying; and that is because the good vision is a part of forty-seven parts of prophethood, as came in some authentic hadiths. So it is not permissible for a Muslim to claim to have seen something he did not see. This is the first point. And the summary of that is that not everyone who claims to have seen the Messenger (peace be upon him) is truthful that he saw the Messenger; he is lying, fabricating something. And this is the important matter: if he is truthful, we say to him, "How did you see him?" If he describes what he saw of the Messenger (peace be upon him) as he claims, with the attributes by which he was known in his blessed life, then we say to him, "We hope that you truly saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)." Here is a point related to the hadith when he (peace be upon him) said:
Whoever saw me (in a dream) من رآني في المنام
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2276Sahih (Darussalam)
. If the seer claims that he saw the Messenger (peace be upon him)—and this is what we have heard repeatedly and over and over—that he saw the Messenger (peace be upon him) and his beard was white, all light, we say to him, "You lied." Because when the servant of the Messenger (peace be upon him) speaks about his (peace be upon him) graying, he says:
Allah (Mighty and Majestic) did not adorn him with gray hair ما شانَه الله - عز وجل - بالشيب
. He says his beard is white! But the devil deluded him into thinking he was praising the Messenger of Allah and speaking well of him when he says, "His beard is light!" The Messenger (peace be upon him) had only a small number of gray hairs in his beard, not reaching twenty, but less than that. Yes. If he did not see the Messenger, some say, "I saw him as a young man, but he walks with a heavy gait." We say to him, "You lied," because among his attributes was that when he walked, it was as if he was being set down from a slope. So not everyone who is truthful in his claim that he saw the Messenger (peace be upon him) has actually seen the Messenger (peace be upon him). But what is the interpretation? It was likened to him. That is, it was said to him in the dream: "This is the Messenger of Allah." Yes, this is the important point. May Allah bless you regarding your question; so consider your time and bring the second question, hehe.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
