Is it permissible to deal in the stocks of companies that deal in riba (usury or interest)?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is it permissible to trade in the stocks of these companies without taking from their profits, knowing that these companies may deal in some riba (usury or interest), and you are trading in their stocks by buying and selling merely in the stock market, without taking from their profits, meaning you rely on the rise in the stock price to trade in it? Is it permissible?

The Shaykh : Okay, does the company deal in riba (usury or interest) or not?

The questioner : It is not direct dealing.

The Shaykh : How?

The questioner : It is not direct dealing, meaning there may be a surplus of their funds that they deposit in one of the banks, and they take interest on it.

The Shaykh : That is enough, say the takbir (saying Allahu akbar) over it. As long as it deals with banks, say the nine takbirs of the funeral prayer over it, not the four!
You know that it is prescribed in the takbirs of funeral prayers to reach nine? Not just four. That is, the prayer over the deceased has four takbirs at the very least, and otherwise it is permissible to have five, six, up to nine. And for that reason, I said: Say the nine takbirs over it.

The questioner : The evidence for that, Shaykh?

The Shaykh : It is established in the Sunnah that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), when he prayed over some of the martyrs, said the takbir over them nine times. And this is mentioned and traced in my book "Rulings on Funerals and Their Innovations."

The questioner : Shaykh, what is recited between the nine takbirs? It is known what is recited between the four, but what is recited between the nine?

The Shaykh : Nothing has been reported from the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him).
