The questioner : Allah the Mighty and Majestic promised those who believed and did righteous deeds that they would have Paradise and the houris. I hope you will inform us whether this is exclusive to men regarding the houris?

The Shaykh : There is no doubt that Paradise contains what souls desire and what eyes delight in, for both men and women. Let the questioner read the words of Allah the Exalted in Surat al-Ahzab:
Indeed, the Muslim men and Muslim women, the believing men and believing women, the obedient men and obedient women
[Al-Ahzab 33:35]
up to His words, Blessed and Exalted is He:
and the men who remember Allah often and the women who do so - for them Allah has prepared forgiveness and a great reward.
[Al-Ahzab 33:35]
and His words, the Exalted:
And their Lord responded to them, "Never will I allow to be lost the work of [any] worker among you, whether male or female; you are of one another.
[Ali 'Imran 3:195]
So whatever rewards are established for men for righteous deeds are established for women, and whatever burdens are established for men are established for women. However, there are rulings specific to men and rulings specific to women, based on evidence from the Book and the Sunnah. So if there is evidence indicating that men are specifically subject to a ruling, or that women are specifically subject to a ruling, then let it be in accordance with that evidence.

The questioner : May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh, and may Allah bless you and your knowledge, and benefit the Muslims through you.
