Is it permissible to eat sweets that contain pork fat or the fat of animals that died without being slaughtered?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : In most of the sweets found in the markets, which are manufactured outside the lands of Islam, it is written on them that they were made with animal oil or animal fat. Most of our brothers who are studying in America mention that the majority of the meats are pork, but I mean, not necessarily... if this oil is pork oil, but it is animal oil; they say that the majority of the meats there, and the cheap ones, are pork; so what is the ruling on these sweets?

The Shaykh : The ruling does not exceed three aspects. Whoever is certain that these sweets, and everything that comes to us from those countries, such as canned goods—for example—meats; whoever is certain that these sweets contain pork fat or the fat of animals that died without being slaughtered, and are not ritually slaughtered, and whoever is certain that these canned meats are also from these animals that died without being slaughtered and are not ritually slaughtered, it is forbidden for him to eat them; whether the sweets or these meats. And whoever is certain of the exact opposite; that is, that these sweets do not contain pork fat, nor do they contain the fat of animals that died without being slaughtered, but rather they contain the fat of ritually slaughtered animals, or in oil—for example—olive oil, or something similar from what is permissible; likewise, whoever is certain that these cans containing preserved meats are also from ritually slaughtered animals and not those that died without being slaughtered; it is permissible for him to eat these and those.
And whoever is not certain of either that or this—and this is the third and final ruling—then at that time comes his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Leave that which makes you doubt for that which does not make you doubt. دَعْ ما يريبُك إلى ما لا يريبك
Sunan an-Nasa'i 5711Sahih (Darussalam)
, and his saying:
Both lawful (Halal) and unlawful things (Haram) are evident but in between them there are doubtful things·and most people have no knowledge about them. So he, who saves himself from these doubtful things, saves his religion and his honor إن الحلال بيِّن والحرام بيِّن ، وبينهما أمور مشتبهات لا يعلمهنَّ كثيرٌ من الناس ، فمن اتَّقى الشبهات فقد استبرأ لدينه وعرضه
Bulugh al-Maram 16:32
