The Shaykh's supplication: A chance to use this final meeting to advise the brothers to stick to knowledge and ask its people, citing the saying of Allah the Exalted

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And after that:
Considering that this night is the night I believe Allah (Mighty and Majestic) has decreed to be the last night we meet you in this blessed mosque, if Allah wills, based on this, I have decided not to prolong my address to you before your questions, so that many of you may have the opportunity to ask at least one question regarding what concerns you in your religion. However, it is necessary to remind you before the questions with a brief word that I mentioned in a previous session, which is that one of the ways of acquiring knowledge that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) explained to us in his Sunnah, as an explanation of the like of His saying (Blessed and Exalted is He)
So ask the people of the message if you do not know. فاسألوا أهل الذكر إن كنتم لا تعلمون
[An-Nahl 16:43]
In this verse, our Lord (Blessed and Exalted is He) explains to us that the Muslim community, in terms of its relationship to knowledge, consists of two categories or types. The first type, which is the majority, are those who do not know, as He stated and made explicit in more than one verse
but most of the people do not know." ولكن أكثر الناس لا يعلمون
[Al-A'raf 7:187]
The other category are the scholars. Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) has made obligatory upon each of the two categories a command. He made it obligatory for the majority, who are those who do not know, to ask the minority, who are those who know. And He made it obligatory for those who know to answer the questions of those who do not know. He said (Exalted is He)
So ask the people of the message if you do not know. فاسألوا أهل الذكر إن كنتم لا تعلمون
[An-Nahl 16:43]
This is a command that necessitates the obligation for the one who does not know to ask the one who knows.
