Discussion of the rank of ihsan, and clarification that a person does not see his Lord in this world, and this includes the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)

The Shaykh : Then came the third rank, and there is no rank after it, which is the rank of ihsan; Sahih al-Bukhari 50, it does not appear from the texts of the Sunnah that it is possible for a person to see his Lord in this fleeting world; for it is authentic from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) in the long hadith of the Dajjal that when he described him to his Ummah—and that was part of his advice (peace be upon him) to his Ummah—part of his description of him was that he said: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2245Sahih (Darussalam), then he said (peace be upon him): . He mentioned descriptions of the Dajjal so that the Muslim, if he is tested by his emergence in his time, will be certain that this is the Dajjal, and not the God who is worshipped in truth, for Allah is perfect in all attributes, and this one is one-eyed; so this is a sign, and another sign is that you see him, ; therefore he (peace be upon him) said in explaining the rank of ihsan: Sahih al-Bukhari 50; because you will not see Him in this world.
And we all know that Musa (peace be upon him)—and he is the one who spoke to the Most Merciful—when he asked his Lord (Mighty and Majestic) to see Him, he said:[Al-A'raf 7:143], and it is not established even for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) that he saw his Lord with his own eyes, and this is a matter, although it is disputed among the scholars of tawhid and the scholars of kalam; for they mentioned that the majority of them hold that creed is not established except by a text that is definitive in its establishment and definitive in its meaning, and we do not find the text that is speculative—whether in its establishment or its meaning—that establishes that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) saw his Lord on the night he was taken up or on any other night; and therefore it is not possible for a person to see his Lord until he dies, as he (peace be upon him) said.
And in this hadith: the scholars spoke about a principle in usul al-fiqh, which is: "Does the speaker include himself in the address he directs to his Ummah or to others?" So he (peace be upon him) in this hadith says: , is he included in this address or not? There is disagreement among the scholars of usul on this matter, and we are certain that he (peace be upon him) is at least included in this specific address; for he was asked, as in "Sahih Muslim" from the hadith of Abu Dharr: "Did you see your Lord?" He said: ; meaning: there is a veil, and as came in the hadith of Abu Musa in "Sahih Muslim": ; so he (peace be upon him) is indicating in the previous hadith of Abu Dharr, in answer to the questioner's question: Mishkat al-Masabih 5659. There is a light that veils our Lord from any of us seeing Him; so includes—also—the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), not by the indication of this hadith itself through what was mentioned previously, but by the indication of the hadith of Abu Dharr and others.
If the matter is so—and that none of us sees his Lord in this world—then he must worship Him while being mindful and certain that his Lord sees him, so if you do not see Him, this does not lead you, as long as you believe that Allah sees everything and knows everything, to disobey Him and to oppose Him in His commands and prohibitions; for HeSahih al-Bukhari 50 certainly.
This rank is the rank of ihsan, and it is—as you heard—the highest of the ranks of Islam and faith.
To worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you cannot achieve this state of devotion then you must consider that He is looking at you.
أن تعبد الله كأنك تراه ، فإن لم تكن تراه فإنه يراكHe is blind in one eye, and your Lord is not blind in one eye
إنه أعور ، وإن ربَّكم ليس بأعورAnd none of you will see his Lord until he dies.
وإن أحدكم لن يرى ربَّه حتى يموتAnd none of you will see his Lord until he dies.

You will not see Me, but look at the mountain; if it should remain in place, then you will see Me.
لَنْ تَرَانِي وَلَكِنِ انْظُرْ إِلَى الْجَبَلِ فَإِنِ اسْتَقَرَّ مَكَانَهُ فَسَوْفَ تَرَانِيAnd in this hadith:
And none of you will see his Lord until he dies.
