Explaining the difference between revelation and inspiration, and the difference between the Prophet and the one who is inspired.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : It may be asked: What is the difference between revelation and inspiration?
The answer: The difference arises from knowing the attribute of the person upon whom revelation descends and knowing the attribute of the person upon whom inspiration descends, if this expression is correct. The person upon whom revelation descends, who is the Prophet, is protected from error. So if revelation descends upon him, he is protected from making a mistake in any part of this revelation, whether in his understanding of it or in conveying it to his nation. As for the inspired person, it is not necessary that he be protected from error in that, just as he is not protected from error in every aspect of his life, in all his actions and words. This is the difference. And if this difference exists, it is sufficient to distinguish between revelation and inspiration.
This should not be considered a problem by saying that since the inspired person makes mistakes, what is the value of inspiration? We say: The value of inspiration is by the value of its owner. The closer its owner is to Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He), the closer his inspiration is to the truth, or the more it hits the truth, and the opposite is the opposite. Therefore, the people of knowledge distinguish between the Prophet absolutely and the inspired person. The Prophet follows what was revealed to him, and he may be revealed to follow a specific Prophet. As for the inspired person, he has no way to know the Shari'ah except through the Prophet. So his inspiration does not stand or become independent in receiving the rulings of the Shari'ah from the sky, because revelation is not sent to him; rather, he is inspired in some particulars.
Yes.
