The questioner : The questioner says: My wish is to become an Islamic da'iyah who calls people to guidance and to this noble religion. What should I do to make this wish come true? And there is no doubt that this is the wish of every Muslim girl in this Muslim society?

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and I send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment. For whoever wants to become a da'iyah calling to Allah the Mighty and Majestic, he must first learn what he is calling to, because a person may call to Allah the Exalted out of ignorance, and his corruption may be greater than his reform. He does so not intentionally or with the desire to do evil, but out of ignorance; he thinks he is a scholar, so he speaks of what he does not know. In that case, he first falls into sin, and secondly, he misguides people. As for his falling into sin, it is because Allah the Exalted said:
Say, "My Lord has only forbidden immoralities - what is apparent of them and what is concealed - and sin, and oppression without right, and that you associate with Allah that for which He has not sent down authority, and that you say about Allah that which you do not know."
[Al-A'raf 7:33]
and because Allah the Exalted said:
And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart - about all those [one] will be questioned.
[Al-Isra 17:36]
As for his misguiding people, it is because he may call them to something forbidden while not knowing it is forbidden. He may permit for them what Allah has forbidden, or he may make obligatory for them what Allah has not made obligatory. Therefore, every da'iyah calling to Allah the Mighty and Majestic must be knowledgeable about what he is calling to. Second: He must be sincere in his calling to Allah, intending by his call the reform of creation and the fulfillment of the command of Allah the Exalted in His saying:
cooperate in righteousness and piety
[Al-Ma'idah 5:2]
and the attainment of true faith, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Religion is sincerity (An-Nasihah).' They said: 'To whom, O Messenger of Allah?' he said: 'To Allah, to His Book, to His Messenger, to the imams of the Muslims, and to their common folk
Sunan an-Nasa'i 4197Sahih (Darussalam)
without intending by the call to Allah to vindicate himself or to extinguish the heat of jealousy in his heart, for this may happen with some people. But there is no doubt that the intention of reform and advice for the servants of Allah is the safest and most abundant path. The da'iyah must also be wise in his calling, such that he places every person in his proper station. For this reason, Allah the Mighty and Majestic said:
Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best
[An-Nahl 16:125]
So Allah the Exalted mentioned three things: wisdom, which is clarifying the truth and making it clear, and looking into the merits of the Islamic religion; then exhortation, if he does not see acceptance from those he called, he exhorts them with good exhortation that softens their hearts, makes them tender, and causes them to obey what he called them to; and thirdly, debating with that which is best. This is if the one being called is stubborn and argumentative. He must debate with that which is best. Best in several matters: First, in terms of presentation, the debate should be with scriptural evidence from the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger, or with rational evidence that supports what came in the Book and the Sunnah. Second, in terms of persuasion, meaning he should bring clear evidence that does not allow for opposition, rather than evidence that may be opposed by the debater. For this reason, when the disbelieving man argued with Ibrahim (peace be upon him), Ibrahim said to him:
"My Lord is the one who gives life and causes death," he said, "I give life and cause death."
[Al-Baqarah 2:258]
So Ibrahim (peace be upon him) turned away from discussing this matter with him and said to him:
Indeed, Allah brings up the sun from the east, so bring it up from the west." So the disbeliever was overwhelmed
[Al-Baqarah 2:258]
and he was unable to respond. Therefore, the debater should not take a path that allows for back-and-forth argument, but should take the path that breaks the back, leaving no room for argument. Third: His debate should be with that which is best if the situation requires it. If it does not require it, let him debate in another manner. For this reason, Allah the Exalted said:
And do not argue with the People of the Scripture except in a way that is best, except for those who commit injustice among them
[Al-'Ankabut 29:46]
So He made the rank of those who wronged higher than the rank of those who debate without wrongdoing.
The important thing is that the da'iyah calling to Allah must have knowledge of these matters we have mentioned. Then, if the matter depends on consulting the authorities in this, so that the thread does not unravel and chaos does not occur, let that be done after consulting the authorities, so that a person does not fall into a prohibited matter and then regret it.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
