What is the intended meaning of the verse (No one touches it except the purified ones . . . . . )?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : onAl-Halabi: Some things may come to the minds of some of the brothers sitting here, which have a great connection to the question and the answer. The first thing: the extent to which everything I mentioned agrees with the saying of His Lord, Exalted is He:
None touch it except the purified.
[Al-Waqi'ah 56:79]
And the second thing: that all the shaykhs say, for example, that something is haram, and how we started to say something different from that, or something similar to that?

The Shaykh: This is substantive speech. As for the verse:
None touch it except the purified.
[Al-Waqi'ah 56:79]
The truth is that people have moved very far away from understanding the Qur'an as Allah, Mighty and Majestic, intended, and as the scholars of tafsir explained. The first thing I want to draw your attention to:
except the purified إلا المطهرون
We Muslims are not in a state of janabah; we are in a state of complete purity. We are purified. This has a connection to the Arabic language, unfortunately, which the Arabs forgot before the non-Arabs. The purified ones are the angels who are brought near. We, if we are truly as Allah wants us to be, are those who purify themselves. There is a difference between "purified" (mutahhar) and "one who purifies himself" (mutatathhir). If there is someone among you who has read the Arabic language, grammar, and morphology, and knows the derivation of words, the "purified" is from Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, while the "one who purifies himself" is from himself. Therefore, when He, Exalted is He, mentioned:
A mosque founded on righteousness from the first day is more worthy for you to stand in. Within it are men who love to purify themselves
[At-Tawbah 9:108]
,
Within it are men who love to purify themselves
[At-Tawbah 9:108]
When this verse was revealed, the Messenger, peace be upon him, said: Of course, the mosque intended here is the Mosque of Quba. So the Messenger, peace be upon him, knew that those intended by:
Within it are men who love to purify themselves
[At-Tawbah 9:108]
are the Ansar. The Ansar around him said, "I hear Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, praising you. Why?" Because there are men who love to purify themselves. You have earned this praise from Allah. What do you do? This is one of the methods of the Messenger, peace be upon him, in discovering the truths of some of the righteous people so that others may follow their example. Yes, they said, "O Messenger of Allah, we have neighbors from the Jews. When they go out to relieve themselves, they purify themselves with water, so we purify ourselves with water." He said:
That is it, so do it
The Arabs in the desert, due to the scarcity and shortage of water, used stones. These Ansar, by virtue of their proximity to the Jews, who are People of the Book as is well known, had among them, among the Jews, the remnants of the old prophetic legacy, that they use water for istinja'. So the Ansar, with their sound fitrah, approved of this thing and adopted it from the Jews, so they began to use water for istinja'. When they said this to the Messenger, peace be upon him, he said, "That is it," meaning the praise you have earned from Allah. So this is the reason. Do it. What did he say about them:
Within it are men who love to purify themselves
[At-Tawbah 9:108]
He did not say "there are men who purify themselves" (mutatathhirun). There are no men who purify themselves. There are men who have janabah and purify themselves. There are men who become dirty, clean themselves, and purify themselves, and so on. But only the angels are the purified ones (mutahharun), because Allah described them in the Noble Qur'an:
they do not disobey Allah in what He commands them but do what they are commanded.
[At-Tahrim 66:6]
Therefore, this verse has no connection to the issue of touching the Qur'an. And although we have finished this topic with what we mentioned, that we know what is best, but may Allah reward the brother Ali here, where he drew attention to the fact that here it is necessary to clarify the meaning of this verse to people; because in our experience, people are far, very far, from the correct understanding of this verse. The first mistake is that they interpret "purified" (mutahharun) as "those who purify themselves" (mutatathhirun). This is a mistake linguistically and religiously.

The questioner: In the tafsir, it is said that the Shayatins did not touch it, so our Lord said, "No one touches it except the purified ones," meaning the angels.

The Shaykh: This is correct. The point is that Imam Malik said in his book, which is one of the most authentic books, the Muwatta', "The best I have heard in the interpretation of this verse:
None touch it except the purified.
[Al-Waqi'ah 56:79]
is like the one in the Surah of 'Abasa wa-Tawalla. He, Exalted is He, said:
(11) No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder; (12) So whoever wills may remember it. (13) [It is recorded] in honored sheets, (14) Exalted and purified, (15) [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, (16) Noble and dutiful.
['Abasa 80:11-16]
These are purified ones. This is by the testimony of Imam Malik, who is the Imam of the City of Migration. The verse has other details, but it is sufficient now to draw attention to the fact that the meaning of the verse is that Allah is speaking about the Tablet, about the Qur'an that exists:
(21) But this is an honored Qur'an (22) [Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate.
[Al-Buruj 85:21-22]
This is the meaning of this noble verse.

The questioner: I have a question, my master, if you please.

The Shaykh: Go ahead.
